About a year ago, when I was in India, I met a young man who was truly a special person. He had a gentle spirit and a kind smile. He said that he wanted to remain joyful and happy rather than allow the troubles of the world to get him down.

Hope is not just something you have when things are going well, but something you keep when things are going badly. You can do all of the preparing you want for troubles ahead, but if you don’t have hope, no matter how many precautions you take, you won’t be able to rise above your problems and you won’t be able to enjoy your successes.
